Nokia touch display

Nokia has created a touch display providing tactile sensations of pressing the buttons.

Technology of "feedback" of the touch display has been named Haptikos. The technology by itself is simple enough - under the screen there are two plates with piezo-sensor controls and the screen is capable to move within the limits of 0.1 millimeters. A lot of time was spent for adjustment of elements for maintenance of correct tactile sensations. Now Nokia laboratory works under providing corresponding tactile sensations at scrolling the screen and use of graphic applications.

Haptikos for the first time will appear on Nokia smartphone, based on updated Symbian S60 version. Date of device’s release is planned for 2008.
